Laser hair removal can decrease growth of hair significantly and sometimes lead to permanent reduction of hair. Multiple sessions may be required depending on hair thickness, location of the hair treated, skin type of the patient, color of the hair and underlying medical conditions. The laser works by emitting a particular wavelength of light that preferentially eliminates the hair without damaging the surrounding skin. Laser hair removal works best for patients with dark and light brown hairs. White hairs will not be treated by the laser. Most areas on the body can be treated with the Diode laser except for around the eye. Laser hair removal treatments are available for both men and women.
